MICHAEL BARRYMORE BROUGHT TO TEARS AFTER MOVING TO NEW HOME

Michael Barrymore has recently moved to the seaside and is settling into his new home.

The former TV star collected the keys to his property last weekend, which is located in Devon. Like anyone would, he was probably anxious about what his new neighbours and lifestyle would be like.

But the 74-year-old was left feeling very emotional after being welcomed into the community with open arms. He's been vlogging the move on TikTok – from exploring his new surroundings to meeting the locals.

Barrymore has taken trips to local beaches, visited Cranch's Sweet Shop in Salcombe and popped into several local garden centres.

For his latest post, he updated fans: "I can't believe I've been in my new home for nearly a week already and this move has been quite stressful, so I've cut down to one job a day so I'm not overwhelmed by it all."

Barrymore subsequently moved to his bedroom, showing how he's currently kipping on a mattress placed directly on the floor while he waits for his bed to be delivered in June.

He explained: "It's custom-made and it's going to be pink to match my sofa." The space looked considerably bare with "five days of washing that has piled up" tucked in one corner.

Beyond the mattress, it held little beyond a pair of compact bedside tables, a lamp and his phone charger. Furniture for his kitchen - a table and benches – is due to arrive next week.

He added: "They're arriving from Scandinavia next week and I've also got to clean my oven and hobs so I can show you some cooking."

The former Strike It Lucky presenter continued, revealing how a group of schoolboys had assembled outside his home.

He said: "All the kids in the neighbourhood found out where I live and they all showed up on my driveway to say hi and greet me to the neighbourhood."

Barrymore became emotional following their departure, reflecting: "I've never had such an outpouring of love after moving into a new place and these kids today are so polite and smile."

The television personality turned social media star was subsequently invited to participate in a community theatre group at their local school. He said: "Because I've said yes to everything since moving here, I turned up. I took part for a bit and gave them some good advice."

Barrymore's broadcasting career plummeted after the tragic death of Stuart Lubbock in the swimming pool at his Essex property. He was subsequently arrested but released without charge, with the case remaining open 25 years later.

More recently, he has successfully rebuilt his profile through social media, amassing an impressive 4.3 million followers on TikTok alone.

People seemed to enjoy his recent video too. One fan responded: "I bet all them kids think you are just a TikTok influencer... little do they know they met a world legend!"

Another commended Barrymore, stating: "Turning up to the drama class is iconic. So many famous people wouldn't do this. The fact you have time for people. Class act from day one."

And a third person praised: "You've been there five minutes and you're already a part of the community! So lovely to see!"
