Marching Powder, the "outrageous" British comedy-drama starring Danny Dyer, is trending in the UK following its surprise streaming drop.
The film, which was Dyer's first project for the big screen in a decade, sees the actor play Jack Jones, a father who is arrested for brawling before a football match while under the influence.
He's subsequently ordered by the courts to participate in couples' therapy with his estranged wife Dani (Stephanie Leonidas) while also getting clean, though he finds it tough to wean himself off his diet of booze and drugs.
Written and directed by Nick Love, Marching Powder was released in cinemas back in March, but it seems to have found a new lease of life after it was added to Prime Video on Saturday (13 September).
As of writing, the comedy-drama is currently in the top position streamer's UK film chart, beating nearest competitor Ice Road: Vengeance. It's also the third most-viewed project overall, with only TV shows The Girlfriend and The Summer I Turned Pretty performing better.

Despite its popularity among Prime Video subscribers, Marching Powder didn't fare as well with critics, with the film currently having a mediocre approval rating of 33% on Rotten Tomatoes from 12 reviews.
"Teaming up with writer-director Nick Love once more, Dyer is back in boisterous action as a middle-aged cocaine enthusiast and lower-leagues football hooligan," noted The Guardian, while calling it an "outrageous geezer comedy".
"It’s left to Leonidas, in the only substantial female part, to steal the show. She plays Dani with an easy-going naturalism that bestows some much needed soul upon the project," opined The Times.

Empire Magazine was less positive, writing: "It’s occasionally funny, but the moments of sincerity are undermined by the unformed sense of grievance and bitterness at the whole wide world."
If spy thrillers are more to your taste than comedy-dramas, then Prime Video may have you covered with Inheritance, a cat-and-mouse adventure which follows Maya (Phoebe Dynevor) on the run as she discovers her father (Rhys Ifans) is a spy.
Marching Powder and Inheritance are streaming on Prime Video now.
